The Dolomites of Italy

Two and a half days in Venice, Italy and what do we decide to do? Leave that amazing city and be carted up to the mountains about 2 1/2 hours north of Venice? What!? Why?! Well basically we are nature lovers before shopping lovers and city lovers, and we knew we might need a day of relative nature peace in the midst of our go hard, jam packed, experience everything two weeks in Europe. And we could not have picked a better break excursion. It was the number one day in multiple days filled with beauty and fun and amazing scenes. A van with four couples and the best driver /tour guide in all of Italy I am sure. Put those great features together with a most incredible and unique range of mountains filled with rugged and primal beauty…. and you get magic. Justin was our Italian driver who loves the mountains and knows the places to view the most incredible scenes. It was very hard not to get good pictures. He loved sharing the history of the rugged and uniquely colored Dolomites. He loved taking pictures of all of us and showing us where we could get maximum beauty shots to never forget what God has wrought in this part of Europe. He gave us an unforgettable day. He could flex where we were to maximize our exposure to good light and calm waters and a great meal at a little inn near a beautiful little lake where we could taste the Prosecco made from grapes grown just down the valley. And a little stop in the 1956 winter Olympic village of Cortina is a lovely treat as well. It really is a day you should not miss when seeing some of the abundant beauty of Italy. So if you find yourself in the area of Venice we hope you consider this option. Add a day…. It will refresh your soul and renew your absolute faith in the grandeur of God.
